Internet Marketing - How to Increase Website Traffic

There are numerous ways to increase website traffic. A very good and useful website is of no use until it reaches its intended audience. A successful running website getting targeted traffic is worth millions, while a dead website without any traffic is a waste of time and money. A website is a success only when it fulfils its purpose - it gets the traffic and attracts the visitors for whom it was created in the first place.

Getting traffic to your website may seem very difficult in the beginning. You need to put in regular effort to increase website traffic and keep it coming and growing on daily basis. It may seem like a lot of effort and especially in the beginning the results may be quite disheartening. You may put in all the required effort and use different ways to increase website traffic and yet it may seem to stand still. The most important thing is not to let the initial hard work discourage you, because the efforts will pay off in the end. Once you've started getting traffic and have gotten your website "mapped on the Internet", the traffic will increase even if you don't make any efforts for it constantly.

It's a fact that 20 per cent of your efforts will bring in 80 per cent of the results. So before you start doing anything else to increase website traffic, sign up for a google analytics account. It is free and easy to sign up with a gmail account and it allows you to collect various information about your website visitors. After that you can focus on increasing your website traffic and then you can monitor the results. Try different things and then focus on the things that work best. When something is bringing excellent results, focus on that and put more effort into bringing in even more traffic.

Internet marketing is excellent because of the fact that you can promote your website and get targeted traffic without any costs at all. You will of course have to spend time on it and put in the effort, but apart from that there's no investment required - there are hundreds of ways to get free targeted traffic to your website. So what can you do to increase website traffic?

One method of gaining targeted traffic to your website is search engine optimisation. It is quite an elaborate science on its own, but when done properly, it will bring excellent results. This is something you could outsource to an expert instead - it will cost you money, but it will pay off with the results. Search engine optimisation is a technique, where you modify your website content so, that the search engines will display your website when a potential visitor enters a relevant keyword into the search engine. So first you need to do some market research, find out the profitable keywords and then edit your content so that it will contain the optimal number of relevant keywords. The more relevant your content seems to the search engines spiders, the higher up your page appears in the search results. The search engine spiders assess your page according to number of criteria, one of them being the keywords.

Search engines also assign a search engine ranking to every website and that ranking also affects where your website appears in a particular search. There are a lot factors that have an impact on the ranking, like the keywords and other information - title, images, also the existing traffic and backlinks to your site. Therefore it is helpful to submit your website URL to search engines as well as various directories relevant to your website subject. For submitting to google, for example, use google webmaster tools - it helps to get your website crawled by the spiders in just a few days, while naturally this process can take much longer, especially when your website is new and isn't getting any traffic yet.

Another way of drawing traffic is by writing good informative articles about the subject of your website. This is called article marketing. Write good unique content on a particular subject and then submit your articles to different article directories. Below each article there is a resource box with author information - this is where you will put a few words about yourself and/or your website and a link to your website. Article are found by search engine spiders quite quickly, so you will get traffic from people, who are looking for information and find your article on the topic. If the article is interesting and useful, they click your link to get more useful information from your website. The most efficient articles are those which focus on one particular topic, which may be relevantly narrow or broader. It is useful to do some research before and include the relevant keywords in your article. Make the title clear and write the article so that people will get the answers they were looking for.

As I said above, backlinking is also useful to increase website traffic. Try to find blogs and forums relevant to the subject of your website. If you have something useful to say about the posts in a blog or forum, you can leave a comment and include a link to your website. However, first always read the rules on commenting and don't spam with your comments - post a comment only if it is relevant and useful.

Increasing your website traffic may seem to much effort in the beginning, but once you've established a position and get known as an expert in a particular field, the traffic starts increasing automatically - you just need to update your website and provide good useful content to the visitors. Get their questions answered and they will come back for me. Offer them more than they expect and they will be your loyal fans forever.

Internet Marketing – Blogging for Money – How to Make Money Blogging

Blogging initially started out as on-line journal where people could post daily entries about their personal experiences and hobbies. But today blogs have become a big source of income and not just the hobby to many people. Considering the ways how to make money online blogging is definitely one of the first and it also comes highly recommended among different web promotion methods.

Generally blogs are the elaborative views of different people, about a theme or a topic in different languages. People have got an option to write in their own mother language and share the thoughts with everyone else. The sooner your blog is noticed and becomes famous among different people, the quicker you can start making money with it.

Making your blog stand out among the hundreds of thousands of others and having your blog found by as many people as possible has now become a business on its own, which requires you to take some actions to survive on the market and get noticed. You need to update your blog regularly with some fresh and original content. Depending on your personal availability you can do it on daily, weekly or monthly basis. Whichever the interval you choose, you need to stick to it. Don’t write 7 posts every day during your first week of blogging and then leave your blog for weeks without any new content at all.

The more you update your blog with fresh, original and interesting information, the bigger the chance for getting a higher rank in different search engines, hence the chance for organic traffic. Remember, your aim is to get noticed and then get the attention and then preserve the interest. If you update your blog regularly with good content, you will soon have a loyal audience coming back to your blog on a regular basis to read your next posts. So first you need to worry about getting traffic to your blog – getting your blog noticed – and then you need to turn these people into your fans by offering the answers to their questions, giving useful tips and advice and keeping it coming frequently.

There are many different ways of making money from blogging. You can publish adsense or other ads on your blog. You can review and/or promote different affiliate opportunities. If your blog becomes well-known, people will be coming to you asking if you could advertise their site or product on your blog or if you’d be interested in doing a review. So your blogs can benefit you in a lot of different ways. You can use your posts to promote your other sites, promote your products, or promote someone else’s products as an affiliate. You can also use your blog for list-building – add a subscription form on your blog, where your readers can sign up for your newsletter, free tips or anything else you can offer them.

How much money you could make with your blog depends largely on the amount of traffic you get daily. The best blogs with tens of thousands of daily hits could make tens of thousands of dollars per month only from blogging. To keep this earning constant and increasing it over time, people need to put in the effort, like posting interesting content every day, adding the URL of their blog to different blog directories, pinging their blog after every new post and lots of bookmarking and digging on the daily basis. They also need regular comments on their posts. There are some useful tools for doing some of these tasks automatically or semi-automatically. All this makes them updated and ranking higher in Google and other search engines, since the search engines love blogs.

If your blog is getting near the top, a good way of making money from blogging is paid reviews – other people would ask you to write a review for their blog, website or product and would pay for that. They would benefit from your massive traffic and you would get paid for your time and effort.

Blogging is a very popular way of making money online. The main reason for that is that it is free and simple, so you could start from scratch and get very far without spending a dime on it. There are several ways how to create a blog – lots of them free and very simple to use. Have a look at Blogger or WordPress and you’ll have your blog setup in minutes. However, there is huge competition in this market and to succeed in the blogging business, you need to be prepared to work hard. You need to put in all the effort required to succeed, otherwise you will never make any money from blogging. So when you’ve decided to start blogging, prepare yourself for a serious job. It will be very rewarding in the end, but first you need to get there.

Internet marketing - Dreams vs Reality

Hi again,

hope you're all well and enjoying the great weather in the last weeks - spring is truly in the air :)

Today I want to share with you what I've been up to lately. And there's been quite a lot I've been up to lately - hence the silence for over a week. As I've already told you in my first post, I joined a coaching program recently. My coach and mentor since March is Chris Freville. If you ever have a chance to join his coaching program, don't hesitate for a second - it is truly worth every single cent and so much more. The program is now closed for new participants, but I surely hope he will have another one later on.

The program isn't even half-way through and I've already learned so much. I've saved a lot of money by not doing the things I used to and/or by doing things differently from before. And I'm seeing real results :) Quite a nice change, I must say - from spending a lot of money to actually making the money.

So why did I call this post Dreams vs Reality? Because today I want to share my dreams with you. I used to think of these dreams as daydreaming, but since joining the coaching program I've actually rephrased these dreams into goals for 2009. So my two biggest goals for 2009 are:

  • I want to quit my day job and earn a full-time income from Internet marketing working part-time only.
  • I want to buy my own house for my son and myself.

I've had these two dreams for quite a while now, but they've always seemed kind of distant and unrealistic. That has now changed. I know I can do it.

There's no reason why you can't do the same. So I'm really looking forward to your feedback.

  • What are your biggest dreams?
  • What are your goals for 2009?
  • What are you doing to make your dreams come true?
  • How are you planning to achieve your goals?

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. So start planning start now and keep me posted about your progress. If I can do it, so can you :)
